Objective:To analyze the application value of needle cleaning box for preventing needle injury in reducing occupational exposure(needle injury)of employees in supply room.Methods:From July 2020 to December 2021,50 employees who worked in the disinfection supply room of Foshan Maternal and Child Health Hospital and 100 sewing needles cleaned by traditional cleaning boxes were selected as the control group.From January 2023 to June 2024,50 employees who worked in the disinfection supply room of this hospital and 100 sewing needles cleaned by needle cleaning box for preventing needle injury were selected as the observation group.The occupational exposure rate of needle injury,needle wear rate and cleaning qualified rate of the two groups were compared,and the satis-faction of dentists and employees in the supply room was investigated.Results:The incidence of occupational expo-sure and the loss rate of needle in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),while the passing rate of needle cleaning and the negative cleanliness were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Dentists'satisfaction with dental needles in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.0 5).The satisfaction of the workers in the observation group with the dental needle cleaning opera-tion was higher than that in the control group(P<0.0 5).Conclusion:Needle cleaning box for preventing needle in-jury can significantly improve the qualified rate of cleaning dental needles,effectively reduce the occupational expo-sure rate of needle injury of employees in disinfection supply room,and the satisfaction of dentists and employees in disinfection supply room is high.
