The General Catalogue of the Complete Collection of Four Treasuries is also known as Detailed Notes of the The General Catalogue of the Complete Collection of Four Treasuries(abbreviated as Notes)and it is a large-scale official compiled catalogue work from the Qing Dynasty.It contains summaries of cultural classics in fields such as philosophy,his-tory,and science and technology prior to the Qianlong era,occupying a significant position in the history of Chinese bibliog-raphy.Due to the abundance of Xin'an medical books,the influence of Xin'an imperial physicians,the prosperity of the printing industry in Huizhou,the donation of books by bibliophiles from Huizhou,and the participation of Huizhou officials in the compilation,The Complete Collection of Four Treasuries places great emphasis on Xin 'an medical books.A total of 21 Xin 'an medical books are included,with 11 listed in the main catalog and 10 in the supplementary catalog,covering vari-ous categories such as materia medica,pathogenesis,acupuncture and moxibustion,medical records,and medical history.Notes elaborates on the historical origins and main contents of these Xin'an medical books,revealing an overview of their medical inheritance and providing evaluations.The Notes showcases the scholarly attitude of Xin'an physicians,character-ized by a spirit of skepticism,the incorporation of diverse viewpoints,an emphasis on textual research,and the articulation of their own insights,as well as their medical expertise and benevolent dedication to healing the world.At the same time,it offers critiques of existing issues.Conducting research on the Xin'an medical books in The Notes not only allows for an ex-ploration of the historical evolution and content characteristics of Xin'an medical literature from a bibliographic perspec-tive,revealing the medical ethics and scholarly approaches of Xin'an physicians,but more importantly,it uncovers the historical and cultural significance embedded in these texts.This research contributes to the inheritance and innovation of Xin'an medicine and promotes the high-quality development of the traditional Chinese medicine system.
