Based on panel data covering 30 Chinese provinces from 2014 to 2022,this study employs the entropy weight-TOPSIS method to measure the high-quality development of the swine industry.The Dagum Gini coefficient,kernel density estimation,and convergence models are utilized to characterize spatiotemporal differentiation and examine convergence properties and spatial spillover effects.The results show that during 2014-2022,the high-quality development of China's swine industry followed a dynamic trajectory of"steady ascent-periodic fluctuation-significant decline-rapid recovery".Policy priorities throughout the study period concentrated primarily on the dimensions of"product safety"and"production regulation,"while provincial heterogeneity persisted in breeding management practices and development pathways.Regional disparities exhibited a fluctuating downward trend,yet regions with weak industrial foundations continue to face constraints in collaborative upgrading.Although spatial spillover effects exert inhibiting influence on the convergence speed,significant β-convergence is identified at the national level.Accordingly,policy recommendations are proposed including strengthening risk prevention,control,and emergency adjustment mechanisms,consolidating investments in green,low-carbon,and resource-conserving technologies,implementing regionally differentiated support policies and collaborative governance frameworks,and optimizing policy tracking,evaluation,and dynamic correction mechanisms to advance high-quality development in the swine industry.
