为揭示南海深层西边界流的时空特征,深入探讨混合三维空间分布对于其季节变化的影响,本研究基于HYCOM数值模式,结合南海实际三维混合空间分布特征设计了4组数值试验,结果表明:(1)数值结果显示,南海中沙群岛东侧存在一支较强的深层西边界流.南海北部、中沙岛链区域强混合对于南海深层的气旋式水平环流结构以及深层西边界流有增强的影响;(2)控制试验模拟出深层西边界流在夏秋强、冬春弱的季节变化特征;(3)强混合空间分布对于南海深层西边界流时间变异具有调控作用.三组敏感性试验能够模拟出南海深层西边界流夏秋强的特点,但在冬春流量较弱的季节差异并不明显.相比于南海北部强混合区,中沙岛链强混合区对于深层西边界流季节变化的调控作用更显著.

To investigate the temporal variability and spatial structure of the deep western boundary current(DWBC)in the South China Sea(SCS)as well as the influence of mixing distributions on its seasonal variability,this study conducted four sensitivity experiments using the Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model(HYCOM).These experiments employed different mixing distributions based on the observed spatial characteristics of mixing in the SCS.(1)A large DWBC was identified in the east of the Zhongsha Islands in the SCS.Strong mixing zones in the northern SCS and around the Zhongsha Island chain enhanced the deep cyclonic horizontal circulation and strengthened the DWBC.(2)The control experiment successfully reproduced the seasonal variation of the DWBC,with strong flows in summer and autumn and weak flows in winter and spring.(3)The spatial distributions of strong mixing showed a regulatory impact on the temporal variability of the DWBC in the SCS.The other three experiments simulated the strong flows in summer and autumn;however,the weak DWBCs in winter and spring were not prominent.Com-pared to the strong mixing zone in the northern SCS,the strong mixing zone around the Zhongsha Island chain area played a more important role in regulating the temporal variability of the DWBC in the SCS.
