Hekoucun Reservoir Dam experienced long-term operation at high water levels during the autumn floods of 2021,leading to uneven deformation of the dam body.This resulted in 375 cracks in the concrete panel,with a total length of 2,875 meters,as well as 36 areas of voids,covering an area of 1,420 square meters.Detection showed that the void depth ranges from 3 to 5 centimeters.The main causes of the cracks and voids were the sudden rise and fall of water levels causing inconsistent deformation between the dam body and the panel,and differences in the elastic modulus of materials leading to voids.Although the cracks and voids did not affect safety in the short term,they might cause seepage and structural damage in the long run,requiring enhanced monitoring and timely treatment.
