中西医结合治疗糖皮质激素依赖性眼眶炎性假瘤1例OA

This article reports a case of Glucocorticoids-dependent orbital inflammatory pseudotumor treated with integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)and Western Medicine.The patient was a 25-year-old female with a recurrent course of five years,who developed dependence on glucocorticoids and obvious metabolic disorders.A synergistic integrated TCM and Western Medicine regimen was adopted for treatment:Western Medicine included oral administration of low-dose methylprednisolone with gradual tapering;TCM treated based on syndrome differentiation according to the disease stage.During the acute phase,Chinese medicines for clearing heat and detoxifying,activating blood circulation and resolving masses were given orally,combined with external treatments such as pricking bloodletting,cupping,thunder-fire moxibustion and acupuncture.During the remission phase,the treatment was converted to replenishing Qi and nourishing Yin,dredging collaterals and resolving stasis.After phased treatment,the patient's ocular symptoms such as swelling,pain and exophthalmos were significantly improved,the thickness of the extraocular muscles gradually recovered,the Glucocorticoids were successfully withdrawn,and no recurrence was found during one year of follow-up.This case shows that integrated TCM and Western Medicine can effectively control the condition of Glucocorticoids-dependent orbital inflammatory pseudotumor,promote Glucocorticoids withdrawal and reduce its side effects.It provides a reference for clinical management of such refractory diseases.
