小区边缘用户性能差是电信运营商的痛点,研究针对智能反射面(Intelligent Reflecting Surface,IRS)辅助的多小区多载波系统的性能提升方案.具体而言,建立了一个包含 2 个小区的上行非正交多址接入(Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access,NOMA)传输系统模型,在 2 个小区边界处部署IRS来增强小区边缘区域的覆盖质量,结合采用协作多点(Coordinated Multi-Point,CoMP)技术对边缘用户信号进行联合检测,提升边缘用户的性能.与已有工作不同,该研究考虑了宽带通信系统中IRS反射单元频率选择性相移误差的影响,并建立发射功率与相位偏移的联合优化问题.鉴于优化变量高度耦合,原方案难以直接求解,为求解联合优化模型,导出发射功率与相位偏移的显式关系,并将原耦合问题等价转化为纯相位设计问题,提出连续相位旋转算法求解.仿真表明在相同服务质量约束下,所提方案的总发射功率低于所有对比基准.

Poor performance of cell-edge users has long been a major challenge for telecommunications operators.This work investigates the performance enhancement for multi-cell,multi-carrier systems assisted by Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces(IRS).Specifically,an uplink Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA)transmission model consisting of two cells is established,where an IRS is deployed at the boundary between the two cells to improve the coverage quality in the cell-edge region.Coordinated Multi-Point(CoMP)technology is employed to jointly detect the signals of edge users,thereby enhancing their performance.Different from existing studies,the proposed approach considers the impact of frequency-selective phase shift errors of IRS reflecting elements in wideband communication systems,and formulates a joint optimization problem of transmit power and phase shift.Due to the strong coupling between optimization variables,the original problem is difficult to solve directly.To tackle this joint optimization model,an explicit relationship between transmit power and phase shift is derived,the original coupled problem is equivalently transformed into a pure phase design problem.A continuous phase rotation algorithm is developed to solve the reformulated problem.Simulation results show that,under the same quality-of-service constraints,the proposed scheme achieves a lower total transmit power than all benchmark methods.
