Nicotine is a key indicator for assessing tobacco quality as an important alkaloid.In recent years,the impact of drought stress on the nicotine content in tobacco has attracted widespread attention.Research had shown that drought stress generally leads to a significant increase in the nicotine content in tobacco,thereby affecting its quality.The paper provides a detailed exposition of the pharmacological effects of nicotine and the molecular mechanisms related to nicotine synthesis.It also delves into the molecular mechanisms by which drought stress affects nicotine content in tobacco and proposes measures for the rational regulation of nicotine content.This study aimd to offer a new perspective on understanding the impact of drought stress on nicotine content in tobacco,to lay a solid theoretical foundation for the precise regulation of nicotine content,and to promote the sustainable development of the tobacco industry.
