This article discusses Professor CHEN Weijian's experience in treating rectal cancer with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)combined with fire needle therapy.According to the theory of Yang transforming Qi while Yin constituting Form,Professor CHEN Weijian believes that rectal cancer falls under the category of cancer in TCM,with the root cause being Yang deficiency in the spleen and kidney,complicated by pathological factors such as dampness-heat,phlegm-stasis,and stagnant toxins.The pathogenesis of this disease can be divided into three stages:Yang fails to generate Qi,leading to stagnation of Qi;Yin constitutes form excessively,resulting in the coagulation of phlegm and stasis;the separation of Yin and Yang allows cancer toxins to run rampant.Treatment focuses on warming and tonifying the spleen and kidney,while also clearing dampness-heat,resolving phlegm,removing stasis,and moving Qi to relieve depression.The aim is to warm Yang and transform Qi to address the root cause,and resolve phlegm and remove stasis to eliminate the form.On this basis,Professor CHEN proposes methods such as tonifying the kidney and invigorating the spleen,as well as resolving phlegm and removing stasis,and develops an empirical formula.This formula is combined with fire needle therapy to enhance Yang Qi in the spleen and kidney,achieving the effect of warming Yang and transforming Qi to eliminate Yin pathogens.The attached medical case involves spleen-kidney Yang deficiency with phlegm and stasis obstruction.The treatment method involves warming and tonifying the spleen and kidney,resolving phlegm and removing stasis.The application of the empirical formula combined with fire needle therapy significant relieved the patient's symptoms.This article delves into its academic characteristics,offering theoretical and practical references for clinical practice.
