Effect of a fixed-time artificial insemination program on reproductive performance of replacement gilts across seasons

试验旨在探究高温季节采用定时输精处理对后备母猪繁殖性能的影响.将189头后备母猪分为高温季节组(86头)与非高温季节组(103头),每头后备母猪经定时输精程序处理后进行发情鉴定、人工输精及妊娠诊断.结果显示:非高温季节组静立反射率和静立持续时间显著高于高温季节组(P<0.05);非高温季节组妊娠率高于高温季节组(85.44%vs.80.23%),返情率(14.56%vs.17.44%)和流产率(5.83%vs.9.30%)低于高温季节组,但均差异不显著(P>0.05);非高温季节组窝产活仔数(12.45头vs.11.57头)、健仔数(11.07头vs.9.90头)、窝均初生重(16.45 kg vs.14.51 kg)较高温季节组显著增加(P<0.05).综上,在非高温季节使用定时输精程序处理能有效提高母猪繁殖性能及仔猪健康.

To investigate the effects of applying a fixed-time artificial insemination(FTAI)program on the reproductive performance of replacement gilts during high-temperature seasons,a total of 189 replacement gilts were divided into a high-temperature season group(n=86)and a non-high-temperature season group(n=103),in which each gilt underwent the FTAI program and treated with estrus detection,artificial insemination,and pregnancy diagnosis.The results showed that the standing reflex rate and standing duration in the non-high-temperature season group were significantly higher than those in the high-temperature season group(P<0.05).Furthermore,the pregnancy rate in the non-high-temperature season group was higher(85.44%vs.80.23%),while the return-to-estrus rate(14.56%vs.17.44%)and abortion rate(5.83%vs.9.30%)were lower compared to the high-temperature season group,despite no significant difference(P>0.05).The non-high-temperature season group demonstrated a significant increase in the number of live-born piglets per litter(12.45 vs.11.57),the number of healthy piglets per litter(11.07 vs.9.90),and litter birth weight(16.45 kg vs.14.51 kg)compared to the high-temperature season group(P<0.05).In conclusion,high-temperature seasons could have a significant negative impact on the reproductive performance of replacement gilts,and the application of a FTAI program can help improve estrus outcomes in replacement gilts during these periods.
