Physiological Functions of Clostridium butyricum and Its Application in Ruminant Production
丁酸梭菌(Clostridium butyricum)是一种广泛存在于土壤、动物肠道等环境中的革兰阳性厌氧芽孢杆菌,具有产丁酸、调节肠道菌群、增强免疫及维护肠道屏障等多种生理功能.作为天然的微生态制剂,丁酸梭菌在反刍动物生产中具有良好的应用前景.其精准鉴定有赖于16S rRNA基因测序与生理生化特征相结合的系统方法.该菌的核心益生机制在于其通过产生丁酸,直接为肠上皮供能、增强紧密连接蛋白表达以巩固物理屏障,并能通过抑制组蛋白去乙酰化酶(histone deacetylase,HDAC)等表观遗传途径促进蛋白分泌与调节性T细胞(regulatory T cell,Treg)分化,从而协同维护肠道稳态与免疫平衡.这些益生作用在反刍动物体内可显著优化瘤胃发酵,提升总挥发性脂肪酸产量与纤维消化率,并促进纤维降解菌增殖.笔者系统综述了丁酸梭菌的益生机制及其在反刍动物生产中的应用,重点分析了其优化瘤胃发酵、改善生产性能与维护肠道健康的作用规律,旨在为构建以丁酸梭菌为核心的健康养殖与高效生产调控体系提供理论支持,以助力反刍畜牧业实现提质增效与绿色发展.
Clostridium butyricum is a Gram-positive,anaerobic,spore-forming bacterium widely distributed in environments such as soil and animal intestines.It possesses various physiological functions,including butyrate production,regulation of gut microbiota,enhancement of immunity,and maintenance of the intestinal barrier.As a natural microecological agent,Clostridium butyricum holds promising application prospects in ruminant production.Its accurate identification relies on a systematic approach combining 16S rRNA gene sequencing with physiological and biochemical characterization.The core probiotic mechanism of this bacterium lies in its production of butyrate,which directly supplies energy to intestinal epithelial cells,strengthens the expression of tight junction proteins to reinforce the physical barrier,and promotes protein secretion and regulatory T cell(Treg)differentiation through epigenetic pathways such as histone deacetylase(HDAC)inhibition,thereby synergistically maintaining intestinal homeostasis and immune balance.These probiotic effects can significantly optimize rumen fermentation in ruminants,increase the production of total volatile fatty acids and fiber digestibility,and promote the proliferation of fiber-degrading bacteria.This review systematically summarizes the probiotic mechanisms of Clostridium butyricum and its applications in ruminant production,with a focus on analyzing its role in optimizing rumen fermentation,improving production performance,and maintaining intestinal health.The aim is to provide theoretical support for constructing a health-focused and efficient production regulation system centered on Clostridium butyricum,thereby contributing to the enhancement of quality,efficiency,and green development in the ruminant livestock industry.
