Soundscape Construction in Thirty-six Scenic Spots of the Kangxi Mountain Resort in Royal Poetry Text
避暑山庄康熙三十六景是康熙皇帝以四字题名的避暑山庄的三十六处景点,目前对其声景的系统性研究尚显不足.以声景理论为基础,综合运用文献考证、实地考察等研究方法,对康熙三十六景声景进行系统分类,揭示其营造手法与文化内涵,并根据当前的声景现状,提出保护与修复的建议.研究结果表明:(1)康熙三十六景声景分为自然声景、人文声景;(2)营造呈现多样化的特点,并依托山水植被,巧用借景传声,融合自然天性与皇家审美;(3)未来应对声源进行合理的"正、负、零"设计.弥补了以往对康熙三十六景声景分类与营造研究的缺失,并为传统园林声景的保护与修复提供了参考.
The Thirty-six Scenic Spots of the Kangxi Mountain Resort each have unique artistic charm and cultural meaning.Existing research focuses on garden art,plants,the water system,and the architecture of the summer resort,with few studies on the soundscape and those limited to macro studies of the overall soundscape.Research on the soundscape of the resort is particularly scarce,and its construction techniques and cultural connotations have not been fully elaborated.Using the theory of soundscape,this study systematically classifies the soundscape of the resort by combining a literature review(encompassing Imperial Summer Resort Poetry,Imperial Rehe Records,Qing Dynasty Unification Records,and Shiqu Baoji)and field surveys.It discloses the construction techniques and cultural connotations.Moreover,it suggests ways to protect and restore the current soundscape.The results reveal that the resort's soundscape comprises natural and humanistic sounds.The natural soundscape includes the sounds of water,plants,wind,and animals.It is created from natural and homeopathic landscaping,using terrain elevations and space enclosures.The humanistic soundscape is divided into artificial sounds and life sounds.The artificial sounds include instrumental music,oars,and utensils.The life sounds include singing,labor,and chanting.The soundscape construction presents diverse characteristics.Relying on the resort's landscape terrain and vegetation resources,the soundscape is based on the sounds of nature,skillfully integrating natural creation and human ingenuity.It condenses the profound historical and cultural heritage,integrating royal aesthetics,life interests,and gardening concepts into the construction of the soundscape,bringing about the organic integration of natural and humanistic soundscapes.This highlights the idea behind Chinese gardens—namely,that"it looks like a natural landscape,although it is made artificially".In the resort's current soundscape,the study found that some scenic spots are only relics,others lack sound sources,and in still others,there is noise interference.Accordingly,it proposes"positive,negative,and zero"designs for reasonable optimization of sources.The positive design focuses on restoring relics and sound sources.Based on the field survey,the study advises using historical data to restore the residual scenic spots and construct a bio-friendly habitat by re-planting characteristic soundscape plants and restoring the missing sound sources.The negative design aims to decrease human noise by using vegetation to isolate sound,divide activity areas,and control activity intervals.The zero design emphasizes reducing manual intervention in scenic spots that already have well-preserved soundscapes,maintaining the original state of these soundscapes,and strengthening public awareness of the need to protect them.In this way,visitors can understand the soundscape and respect it during their visits.This research fills a gap in the resort's classification and construction of its soundscape.It also provides references for the protection and restoration of the soundscape in traditional gardens.The study's conclusions have value for those designing and constructing modern soundscapes in public spaces.
