[Purpose/significance]This study delineates the developmental trajectory and knowledge production charac-teristics of international national security intelligence research by revealing the collective profile,career development patterns,collaboration network structures,and core research theme evolution of its key scholars.It aims to provide in-sights and references for promoting the discipline construction of national security intelligence in China.[Method/pro-cess]Core authors were selected from the Intelligence and National Security journal based on publication volume crite-ria.Employing biographical analysis,the information of these international core authors was categorized into four core dimensions-disciplinary background,research direction,research output,and work experience for comparative anal-ysis.Furthermore,LDA topic model was applied to their publications for topic mining to systematically identify the core issues focused on by intelligence researchers.[Result/conclusion]Findings indicate that the core author group is characterized by significant male dominance,a predominance of middle-aged and senior scholars,high institutional concentration,and disciplinary backgrounds heavily leaning towards traditional humanities and social sciences.Secu-rity intelligence research faces challenges including insufficient deep interdisciplinary integration,a gap between aca-demia and practice,and lagging discussions on the ethics and law concerning emerging technologies.
