围绕"形溃反原"展开的论辩,系理学与气学的一次重要交锋.程朱认为张载"形溃反原"论不仅是对天地生化模式的错误把握,且有近佛之嫌.程朱从运转模式、理气结构、价值旨归三重向度对其展开批判,认为气散即灭尽,形上之理才是形下之气生生不息的根源.王船山不满程朱"理本气末"的诠释结构,并以"理气不分"重塑气之本体地位,对程朱之批判进行一一辩驳.他指出"有无""生灭"皆属表层现象,其本质乃是气之屈伸聚散,由于理气不二,气与理(性)皆长存不灭,故"形溃反原"非释氏之轮回.船山强调张载此说旨在"贞生死以尽人道",具备辟佛之效与正人心之功.船山对程朱批判之辨正,不仅是为张载正名,同时也是对气学体系的推进与完善,弥补理学在超越生死、安顿性命问题上的缺失,增强推行人道的理论说服力.

The debate centered on the theory of"disintegration of form and return to origin"constitutes a significant confrontation between Neo-Confucianism(Lixue)and the Philosophy of Material Force(Qixue).The Cheng brothers and Zhu Xi contended that Zhang Zai's theory not only misinterpreted the generative pattern of heaven and earth but also bore a suspicious resemblance to Buddhist doctrines.From three dimensions—the operational model,the structure of principle(li)and material force(qi),and the ul-timate value—they criticized the theory,arguing that once qi disperses,it is utterly extinguished,and that the metaphysical li is the source of the continuous generation of physical qi.Dissatisfied with the Cheng-Zhu interpretive framework that prioritized li over qi,Wang Chuanshan re-established the ontological status of qi through the notion of the"inseparability of li and qi",thereby refuting the Cheng-Zhu criticisms point by point.He asserted that"being and non-being"and"generation and extinction"are merely superficial phenomena,whose essence lies in the contraction,expansion,aggregation,and dispersion of qi.Since li and qi are non-dual,both qi and li(inherent nature,xing)endure perpetually without perishing;hence,"disinte-gration of form and return to origin"is not equivalent to Buddhist reincarnation.Wang emphasized that Zhang Zai's theory aimed to"uphold life and death to fulfill the human way",serving to refute Buddhism and rectify the human mind.Wang Chuanshan's rectification of the Cheng-Zhu critique was not merely a vindication of Zhang Zai but also an advancement and refinement of the Qixue system.It addressed the shortcomings of Lixue in transcending life and death and settling human destiny,thereby strengthening the theoretical foundation for implementing the human way.
