The latent evil factor theory,which was first recorded in Huang Di Nei Jing,plays an important guiding role in identification and treatment of many diseases in clinical practice.Ulcerative colitis is closely related to the"latent evil factor theory",both of which refer to the disease which is lingering and dormant for a long time.As a key factor in the onset of ulcerative colitis,the nuclear factor(NF)-κB is expressed by the action of inducing factors,which is like the characteristics of latent evil factors.The induction process of ulcerative colitis is essentially the process of transmission of evil factor Qi from the surface to the inside,and the treatment should start from strengthening the surface of the muscle and then reducing the predisposing factors.On the other hand,starting from strengthening the Zheng Qi of patients to dispel the evil factors out,following the treatment principle of"supplementing the deficiency aspect and purging the excess aspect,by means of strengthening the Spleen and benefiting Qi,dissolving Dampness,clearing Heat and removing blood stasis.
