This article provides a review of the research progress on drying technology of traditional Chinese medicinal materials in different drying states,aiming to provide reference for the study of drying of different typical traditional Chinese medicinal materials.The significance of drying traditional Chinese medicinal materials was elaborated,and several commonly used drying methods were summarized for their thermal and physical properties,quality,and sensory evaluation indicators during the drying process.The study explored the relationship between the thermophysical properties and quality of traditional Chinese medicine,and found that drying conditions have different effects on the active ingredients and appearance quality of traditional Chinese medicine,and thermophysical parameters are closely related to quality.The combination of new combined drying technology has great development prospects for the drying field of traditional Chinese medicine.The sensory quality evaluation indicators of traditional Chinese medicine still need to be further optimized and improved.It is of great practical significance to optimize the drying process,improve the quality and efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine,and achieve sustainable development and processing in the production area of traditional Chinese medicine.
