Carbon fiber and its composites are key materials enabling the lightweight and high-performance goals of the low-altitude economy.In low-altitude aircraft,particularly drones and electric vertical take-off and landing(eVTOL)vehicles,carbon fiber is widely used in rotors,primary load-bearing structures,secondary load-bearing structures,and aviation battery systems due to its high specific strength and design flexibility,effectively enhancing payload capacity,range,and safety performance.The performance requirements and market dynamics for carbon fiber vary across different components.From an industrial chain perspective,the low-altitude economy is driving rapid development in upstream materials such as carbon fiber,carbon fiber paper,and resin matrices.Currently,technological gaps remain in areas like high-end carbon paper and thermoplastic composites,but through industrial collaboration,innovation,and airworthiness certification,breakthroughs in localization are anticipated.In the future,with advancements in manufacturing processes,recycling technologies,and increasing demands for green and low-carbon solutions,carbon fiber materials are poised to play a more systematic and sustainable role in the low-altitude economy.
