Status quo and recommendations for CCUS-EOR projects in China
二氧化碳捕集、驱油与埋存(CCUS-EOR)项目是石油公司实现上下游绿色低碳协同发展的战略选择和重要路径."十四五"期间,中国的石油企业大规模启动CCUS-EOR项目建设,目前进入现场试验向规模开发过渡的关键期.梳理了中国CCUS-EOR项目的发展现状,总结了多类型试验是深入认识二氧化碳驱油开发规律的重要途径等实践认识.针对目前适宜二氧化碳驱油技术的油藏条件认识仍需深化、全产业链协同发展有待创新改进、CCUS-EOR技术仍需进一步攻关等问题与挑战,提出建议:一是持续加大项目试验力度,对适宜二氧化碳驱油技术的不同类型油藏深化地质认识;二是强化顶层设计,根据油藏条件、源汇匹配和技术成熟度有序推进重点盆地CCUS全产业链协同发展;三是进一步攻关全产业链关键技术,支撑未来实现规模效益开发;四是制定有效措施降低CCUS-EOR全流程成本,提升项目经济效益;五是健全管理与考核机制,保障CCUS-EOR业务行稳致远.
Carbon capture,utilization,and storage-enhanced oil recovery(CCUS-EOR)projects have become a strategic choice and critical pathway for oil companies to achieve development with green and low-carbon synergy across upstream and downstream operations.During the 14th Five-Year Plan period,Chinese oil companies have initiated large-scale CCUS-EOR projects which are currently in a critical transition phase from pilot field tests to large-scale development.This paper reviews the status of CCUS-EOR development in China,and summarizes practical insights,noting that multi-type experimentation serves as an important approach for gaining a thorough understanding of CO2 flooding mechanisms.It proposes that continually expand the scope of project trials to deepen geological understanding of CO2 flooding applicability across various reservoir types,strengthen top-level design for the full industrial chain to promote coordinated development of the CCUS industry chain in key basins based on reservoir conditions,source-sink matching,and technological maturity,further develop key technologies across the entire industrial chain to enable large-scale and profitable development,formulate effective measures to reduce full-cycle costs of CCUS-EOR projects and enhance economic viability,and establish robust management and assessment mechanisms to ensure the steady and sustainable progress of CCUS-EOR since oil companies currently face such issues and challenges as the need for a deeper understanding of reservoir suitability criteria for CO2 flooding technology,the need for innovative improvements in cross-industry chain collaboration,and the necessity for further technological advancements in CCUS-EOR.
