In recent years,both upbound and downbound freight volumes on the Qianan-Caofeidian Railway have increased,and the range of commodities transported has expanded,leading to capacity constraints.This trend has adversely affected the efficient organization of heavy-haul transportation of China Railway Taiyuan Group Co.,Ltd.To address this issue,this study examined strategies for optimizing the transportation capacity of the Qianan-Caofeidian Railway.Based on an overview of its current transportation organization,major problems in train-flow organization were identified,including a low degree of matching between the scheduled timetable and actual train operations,inefficient train interchange at the Luanxian interchange,and long train dwell times at stations.The causes of these problems were analyzed,and optimization strategies were proposed with respect to train-flow organization,dispatching command,and the layout and utilization of facilities and equipment.These strategies aim to enhance the transportation capacity of the Qianan-Caofeidian Railway,ensure the smooth operation of the Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway,and provide guidance for operational decision-making.
