Objective To investigate real-world outpatient data;To explore the medication law of Shanxi renowned TCM practitioner Gao Jianzhong in using modified Wendan Decoction for treating spleen and stomach disorders based on the real-world data;To provide insights for its clinical application.Methods Medical records of patients prescribed Wendan Decoction by Gao Jianzhong between January 1,2021 and January 1,2024 were collected.A database of Wendan Decoction cases for spleen-stomach disorders was established using Excel 2021 software.Frequency statistics of diseases,syndrome types,and medications,association rule analysis of high-frequency medications and clustering analysis were performed using R language 4.4.1.Results A total of 592 standardized visits with 779 prescriptions were included,covering conditions such as gastric distension,gastric stuffiness and hiccups.Pattern identification involved visceral,qi-blood-fluid,eight-principle,etiology pattern and six-meridian differentiation,with common patterns including spleen deficiency,liver depression,qi deficiency,and phlegm-fluid retention.Wendan Decoction was used alone 137 times and in combination with other formulas 321 times.Frequently combined formulas included Banxia Xiexin Decoction and Chaigui Longmu Prescription.Among the 113 kinds of Chinese materia medica involved,digestant herbs(31.21%)and qi-tonifying herbs(15.56%)were predominant.Totally 30 kinds of high-frequency Chinese materia medica(frequency≥15)were identified,such as Galli Gigerii Endothelium Corneumm,Ostreae Concha and Codonopsis Radix.The main madicinal property was neutral,the main taste was sweet,and predominantly entered the liver meridian and spleen meridian.Association rule analysis revealed 14 madicinal pairs,with Os Draconis-Massa Medicata Fermentata-Ostreae Concha having the highest confidence.Clustering analysis yielded six madicinal combinations.Conclusion Gao Jianzhong uses Wendan Decoction to treat spleen-stomach disorders,with the core of harmonizing liver and spleen,digesting food and resolving phlegm,often combined with Banxia Xiexin Decoction and Chaigui Longmu Prescription.
