The Impact of Artificial Intelligence Development on the Settlement Intention of Young Migrants
从产业升级与公共服务赋能视角,考察AI发展对青年流动人口定居意愿的影响.研究发现,城市AI发展显著提升了青年流动人口的定居意愿,具体表现为户口迁移、短期留城发展和长期定居意愿的全面提升.驱动产业高级化与推动公共服务智能化是AI提升青年流动人口定居意愿的重要渠道.异质性检验发现,AI的拉力作用在东南沿海地区、高行政等级城市中更明显,AI发展能够同时吸引高、低技能青年流动人口定居于此,AI发展对26～35 岁的青年群体的不同类型定居意愿均具有促进作用,而对16～25 岁的青年群体则主要表现为增强其短期留城意愿.调节效应结果显示,较高落户门槛与住房成本会显著削弱AI对青年流动人口定居意愿的促进作用.
This study examines how artificial intelligence(AI)development affects the settlement intention of young migrants,using data from the China Migrants Dynamic Survey and city-level statistics(2016-2018).Results show that urban AI development significantly enhances young migrants'willingness to settle,serving as an important pull factor.Mechanism analysis indicates that AI promotes settlement mainly by advancing industrial upgrading-creating high-skilled jobs-and by enabling smarter public services that lower institutional costs.Heterogeneity tests reveal stronger effects in southeastern coastal areas and higher-tier cities and that AI attracts both high-and low-skilled youth,though its impact differs by age:it mainly boosts short-term stay intention among those aged 16～25,while enhancing all forms of settlement intention among those aged 26～35.Moreover,higher hukou barriers and housing costs significantly weaken AI's positive influence.
