Research on Summer Thermal Exposure Characteristics of Tourists in Historic Districts and the Shading Effectiveness of Street Canyons:A Case Study of the Shangxiahang District in Fuzhou
Taking the typical street canyons in the Shangxiahang Historic District of Fuzhou as the research object, this study conducted dynamic monitoring of meteorological parameters along tourists'trajectories and calculated the Physiological Equivalent Temperature(PET)using the Ray-Man Pro model.Combined with tourists'thermal sensation votes(TSV)and thermal comfort votes(TCV),the study evaluated their thermal exposure characteristics and explored the shading effects of buildings and trees within these street canyons. The results indicate that:(1)The overall thermal environment of the district is unfavorable, with PET exceeding the thermal discomfort threshold of 35.2℃during most periods.Black globe temperature(tg)shows the strongest correlation with PET,while its spatial distribution across different streets and alleys is uneven, leading to signifi-cant variations in tourists'thermal comfort;(2)The difference between black globe temperature and air temperature(Δt)is an effective indicator for assessing the shading and cooling effects of build-ings and trees;(3)Differential analysis reveals that leaf area index better reflects the cooling effi-ciency of trees in wide alleys, while increasing the height-to-width ratio(H/W)of treeless narrow alleys can significantly enhance building shading effectiveness. It is recommended to implement dif-ferentiated cooling strategies tailored to different spaces:prioritizing tree species with higher leaf are-a density for wide alleys, and enhancing the H/W ratio along with facade shading optimizations for narrow alleys. These measures, supplemented by scientifically planned tour routes, can effectively reduce tourists'thermal exposure and improve their visiting experience.
