Element Logging Method for Complex Lithology Identification Based on Multi-Mineral Model:A Case Study of the Ordovician in Weiyuan Area

新钻井工艺易导致井下返出的岩屑呈细碎状甚至粉末状,奥陶系岩性复杂,岩屑岩性识别手段的局限性导致对威远地区多井原始岩性剖面的认识存在错误.为此,提出利用元素录井数据所建立的元素矿物转换模型和元素岩性识别图版来识别研究区岩性,并通过薄片鉴定对其结果进行验证.试验结果表明,基于多矿物模型的元素录井复杂岩性识别方法准确性较高.运用该方法校正了威远地区21 口井的岩性剖面,为后期老井挖潜提供了可靠的岩性基础.

The new drilling technique tends to produce finely fragmented or even powdered cuttings from downhole.Given the complex lithology of the Ordovician formation and the limitations of conventional cuttings identification methods,previous interpretations of the original lithological profiles in multiple wells in the Weiyuan area have been found to be inaccurate.To address this issue,we propose utilizing element logging data to establish an element-mineral conversion model and create element lithology identification charts for lithology identification in the study area,with verification through thin section analysis.Test results demonstrate that the element logging method based on a multi-mineral model achieves high accuracy in identifying complex lithology.This method has been successful-ly applied to correct the lithological profiles of 21 wells in the Weiyuan area,thereby providing a reliable litholog-ical basis for the subsequent redevelopment of existing wells.
