Dingzhi Pill is a classic prescription for treating disorders caused by unstable heart Qi and insufficiency of the five organs.It was formulated by SUN Simiao for the treatment of heart Qi deficiency-related conditions.Dingzhi Pill has multiple pharmacological effects,including anti-myopia,improvement of learning and memory,antidepressant properties,sleep enhancement,stress resistance,and immune system modulation.In modern clinical practice,it is primarily used to treat neurological disorders such as memory loss,depression,and insomnia,as well as ocular diseases like myopia.This article employs a comparative literature analysis to investigate the composition,dosage,preparation methods,and therapeutic indications of Dingzhi Pill.The study reveals that the prescription's composition and dosage have evolved over time,with its therapeutic range extending to ophthalmic diseases,cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,disorders of Qi,blood,body fluids,and kidney-related diseases.Modern applications are mainly focused on depression models and various learning impairment models,though research on its use in myopia models is relatively sparse.This article aims to provide a reference for future clinical studies of Dingzhi Pill in Traditional Chinese Medicine and the development of compound formulations.
