Effects of habitat heterogeneity on the distribution pattern of species diversity in annual ephemeral plants

植物物种多样性是植物多样性的直接表征,其分布格局及影响因素一直是生态学和生物地理学重要研究议题.当前对于植物物种多样性的研究多局限于单因子驱动解析,对多尺度生境异质性的耦合效应及其空间分布规律仍缺乏系统性认知.以新疆北部荒漠区一年生短命植物为研究对象,以alpha多样性指数测度植物物种多样性,基于野外调查与环境因素分析,探讨生境异质性对一年生短命植物的物种多样性分布格局的影响.结果表明(1)共调查到一年生短命植物 70 种,主要以十字花科、菊科、禾本科、紫草科和豆科植物为主,分别占调查植物总数的 32%、14%、10%、10%和 7%,在不同生境中,一年生短命植物物种多样性表现为沙质荒漠显著大于砾质荒漠显著大于盐化荒漠(P<0.05);(2)线性拟合结果表明,一年生短命植物物种多样性与年均温度、土壤平均粒径呈显著正相关(P<0.05),与土壤 pH、土壤电导率、土壤有机碳和土壤总氮呈显著负相关(P<0.05).(3)随机森林分析结果显示土壤pH、土壤电导率和土壤平均粒径对一年生短命植物物种多样性的相对重要性较高.(4)结构方程模型结果表明,土壤pH和土壤电导率对一年生短命植物物种多样性表现为直接负效应,海拔、年均温和土壤平均粒径则表现为间接正效应.研究表明同时考虑多个环境因子及因子间的交互作用可以更好地解释一年生短命植物物种多样性分布格局.该结果可为荒漠植物保育和荒漠植被恢复提供理论依据.

Plant species diversity is a direct representation of plant diversity,and its distribution patterns and influencing factors have always been important research topics in ecology and biogeography.At present,the research on plant species diversity is mostly limited to single-factor driven analysis,and there is still a lack of systematic understanding of the coupling effect and spatial distribution of multi-scale habitat heterogeneity.In this study,we took annual ephemeral plants in the northern desert area of Xinjiang as the research object,measured plant species diversity by alpha diversity index,and explored the impact of habitat heterogeneity on the species diversity distribution pattern of annual ephemeral plants based on field investigation and environmental factor analysis.The results showed that:(1)A total of 70 annual ephemeral plants were investigated,mainly in Brassicaceae,Asteraceae,Poaceae,Boraginaceae and Fabaceae plants,accounting for 32%,14%,10%,10%and 7%of the total number of plants surveyed,respectively,and the species diversity of annual ephemeral plants in different habitats was significantly greater in Sandy desert than in Gobi desert and significantly larger than Saline-alkali desert(P<0.05).(2)The results of linear fitting showed that the species diversity of annual ephemeral plants was significantly positively correlated with mean annual temperature and average soil particle size(P<0.05),and negatively correlated with soil pH,soil electrical conductivity,soil organic carbon and soil total nitrogen(P<0.05).(3)The results of random forest analysis showed that soil pH,soil electrical conductivity and average soil particle size were of high importance to the species diversity of annual ephemeral plants.(4)The results of structural equation modeling showed that soil pH and soil electrical conductivity had a direct impact on the species diversity of annual ephemeral plants,while altitude,mean annual temperature and average soil particle size had indirect effects.This study suggests that considering multiple environmental factors and their interactions can better explain the distribution pattern of species diversity in annual ephemeral plants.The results can provide a theoretical basis for desert plant conservation and desert vegetation restoration.
