Analysis of an internal discharge fault in a GIS circuit breaker at a converter station

针对某换流站发生的一起800 kV 气体绝缘金属封闭开关(gas insulated switchgear,GIS)断路器内部放电故障,本文通过解体检查、电场仿真、绝缘拉杆模拟试验等检查,对放电路径及发生原因进行分析,确认放电原因为内部异物放电,并给出了相应解决措施,以避免类似放电事故的发生.

An internal discharge fault occurred in an 800 kV gas-insulated switchgear(GIS)circuit breaker at a con-verter station.To identify the discharge path and root cause,comprehensive investigations were carried out,including disassembly inspection,electric field simulation,and insulation operating rod simulation tests.The results indicate that the fault was caused by partial discharge induced by a foreign object inside the enclosure,which led to local electric field distortion.Corresponding mitigation measures are proposed to prevent the recurrence of similar discharge failures,providing a reference for the safe operation and maintenance of GIS equipment.
