This article summarizes the experience of Chinese medical master Guo Chengjie in treating allergic rhinitis.Allergic rhinitis is an allergic disease that mainly affects the nasal mucosa.Its clinical manifestations include sudden nasal congestion,runny nose,nasal itching,and paroxysmal sneezing.Professor Guo believed that the key contradiction of allergic rhinitis lies in the imbalance between yin and yang caused by the relative attenuation of"yang transforming qi"and the relative hyperactivity of"yin forming"in the body,and the disease belongs to the category of deficiency at the root and excess at the target.The treatment should be divided into stages.In the acute phase,if the clear yang does not rise and the nasal cavity is blocked,the main approach should be on warming yang,unblocking the cavity,and dispelling cold;During the remission phase,the course of the disease is prolonged with the combination of deficiency and stasis,and the main focus is on replenishing qi,activating blood circulation,and dispelling wind.In clinical practice,Professor Guo emphasized the combination of acupuncture and herbal medicine,achieving excellent therapeutic effects by integrating traditional Chinese medicine with Fuyang Tongqiao acupuncture method.
