Principal Component Analysis and Cluster Analysis of Body Weight and Body Size Traits in Lanzhou Fat-tailed Sheep

为探究兰州大尾羊体重与体尺性状的相关性,揭示其生长发育规律和遗传特性,本研究测定了 156只成年兰州大尾羊(公羊18只,母羊138只)的体高(X1)、体长(X2)、胸围(X3)、胸宽(X4)、胸深(X5)、管围(X6)、尻宽(X7)、尾长(X8)、尾宽(X9)及体重(Y)数据,并对其进行了相关性分析、主成分分析、回归分析和系统聚类分析.结果表明,兰州大尾羊公羊体重与体高、体长、胸围、胸宽、管围和尻宽呈极显著正相关(P<0.01),而母羊体重与9项体尺指标间均呈极显著正相关(P<0.01);主成分分析将公羊和母羊的体重和体尺性状分别简化为3个主成分和2个主成分,对这些主成分贡献较大的体尺性状主要有胸围、体高和尾长;根据回归分析参数建立的公羊的最优回归方程为Y公=1.635X3+0.417X5-100.635(R2=0.886,P<0.01);母羊的最优回归方程为Y母=0.578X1+0.433X3+4.482X6+0.926X9-85.937(R2=0.631,P<0.01).此外,通过聚类分析将兰州大尾羊分为3个不同的生长发育群体,每个群体具有相似的体重和体尺性状特征.综上,兰州大尾羊群体在体重与体尺性状间生长水平存在较大差异以及显著的相关性,其中胸围、体高和体长与体重的相关性最强,因此,公羊选育时应重点关注的体尺性状为胸围和体高,母羊应重点关注胸围和体长.

To investigate the correlation between body weight and body measurement traits of Lanzhou Fat-tailed sheep and to reveal their growth and development patterns as well as genetic characteristics,this study measured the body height(X1),body length(X2),chest circumference(X3),chest width(X4),chest depth(X5),cannon circumference(X6),rump width(X7),tail length(X8),tail width(X9),and body weight(Y)of 156 adult Lanzhou Fat-tailed sheep(18 rams and 138 ewes).The data were subjected to correlation analysis,principal component analysis,regression analysis,and hierarchical cluster analysis.The results showed that the body weight of Lanzhou Fat-tailed sheep ram was ex-tremely significantly positively correlated with body height,body length,chest circumference,chest width,cannon cir-cumference,and rump width,while the body weight of ewe was extremely significantly positively correlated with all nine body measurement traits.Principal component analysis simplified the body weight and body measurement traits of rams and ewes into three and two principal components,respectively,with chest circumference,body height,and tail length being the main body measurement traits contributing to these principal components.The optimal regression equations for ram and ewe were Yram=1.635X3+0.417X5-100.635(R2=0.886,P<0.01)and Yewe=0.578X1+0.433X3+4.482X6+0.926X9-85.937(R2=0.631,P<0.01),respectively.Additionally,cluster analysis divided Lanzhou Fat-tailed sheep into three different growth and development groups,in which each group showed similar body weight and body measurement traits.In conclusion,there are significant differences and correlations in the growth levels of body weight and body mea-surement traits in Lanzhou Fat-tailed sheep populations,among them,chest circumference,body height,and body length showed the strongest correlation with body weight.Therefore,ram selection and breeding should be focus on chest cir-cumference and body height,while ewe should be focus on chest circumference and body length.
