Guided by the principle of correspondence between formulas and syndromes within the framework of the six-meridian syndrome differentiation,this paper introduces the clinical experience of Professor Chen Hongfeng in the treatment of breast diseases using Bupleuri Radix(Chaihu)-based formulas.She advocates that breast diseases should be treated from the perspective of the liver,with the identification of"Chaihu syndrome"as the core,combined with palpation of the"Chaihu-corresponding"cutaneous reaction zone and comprehensive syndrome differentiation of the"Chaihu-prone constitution".In clinical practice,Professor Chen applies relatively fixed Chaihu-based formulas to managing complex syndromes.Her therapeutic strategy emphasizes identifying the primary syndrome,locating affected areas through physical examination,and prescribing according to constitutional differentiation.Throughout the treatment,the principle of soothing the liver and regulating qi is consistently applied,supplemented by harmonizing the spleen and stomach,regulating qi and blood,and balancing yin and yang.Two clinical cases are presented for reference.
