Effects of shading in different stages on cotton fiber quality

[目的]研究不同时期遮光对棉花纤维品质的效应,为指导棉花耐弱光育种和栽培提供参考.[方法]2020-2021年在中牟县黄河滩区,设计了在棉花初花期、盛铃期、初絮期的单期遮光和初花期+盛铃期+初絮期的3期遮光处理,以不遮光为对照(CK).遮光度78%,单次遮光15 d.研究了对棉株1~5果枝、6~10果枝和11及以上果枝棉铃中纤维的上半部平均长度、棉纤维断裂比强度、棉纤维马克隆值、棉纤维反射率、纤维黄度(+b)、纤维断裂伸长率、棉纤维整齐度指数和纺纱均匀性指数的影响.[结果]与CK相比,3个时期遮光处理1~5果枝棉铃中纤维的上半部平均长度缩短1.07 mm,差异达显著水平;3个时期遮光处理1~5果枝、6~10果枝和11及以上果枝棉铃中纤维断裂比强度分别较CK降低10.82%、6.05%和9.64%,差异达显著水平;全部遮光处理的各果枝部位棉铃中纤维马克隆值总体有所降低,但与CK差异均不显著;盛铃期和3个时期遮光处理6~10果枝棉铃中纤维断裂伸长率以及初花期和3个时期遮光的11及以上果枝棉铃中纤维断裂伸长率大于CK,且差异达显著水平(2021年3个时期遮光处理除外);全部遮光处理的各果枝部位棉铃中纤维整齐度指数与CK相比均无显著差异,且不同时期遮光处理间差异也达不到显著水平;2021年初絮期遮光处理的11及以上果枝棉铃中纤维反射率显著降低;3个时期遮光处理降低了中下部果枝棉铃中纤维黄度(+b),增加了11及以上果枝纤维黄度(+b);且3个时期遮光处理的纺纱均匀性指数较低.[结论]遮光总体降低棉花纤维的上半部平均长度和断裂比强度,但增加断裂伸长率,而对马克隆值和整齐度指数无明显影响;3个时期遮光的效应大于初花期、盛铃期和初絮期的单期遮光,且对11及以上果枝棉铃中纤维品质的影响总体大于1~5果枝、6~10果枝.

[Objective]The effects of shading in different stages on cotton fiber quality were studied to provide scientific basis for cotton breeding and cultivation under low light stress.[Method]Cotton field experiments were carried out from 2020 to 2021 in the Yellow River beach area of Zhongmou County.A randomized complete blocks design was employed in this work.The shading treatments were applied at the initial flowering,peak boll setting,initial boll opening,and all three stages of above(three stages),respectively,with no shading as control(CK).The shading intensity was 78%,and each shading lasted 15 days.The effects of shading in different stages on upper half mean length,breaking tenacity,micronaire value,reflectivity,yellowness(+b),breaking elongation,uniformity index and spinning uniformity index were studied for fiber from cotton bolls at the 1st-5th,6th-10th and≥11th fruit branches.[Result]Compared with CK,the upper half mean length of fiber from cotton bolls at the 1st-5th fruit branches significantly shortened by 1.07 mm under the treatment of shading in three stages,and the breaking tenacity of fiber from cotton bolls at the 1st-5th,6th-10th and≥11th fruit branches decreased by 10.82%,6.05%,and 9.64%,respectively,with statistically significant differences.Fiber from cotton bolls at all the fruit branches under all shading treatments exhibited lower micronaire value,but no significant difference was detected.Moreover,the elongation of fiber from cotton bolls at the 6th-10th fruit branches under the treatment of shading in peak boll setting and three stages,and the≥11th fruit branches under the treatment of shading in initial flowering and three stages was significantly higher than CK(except for the three stages shading treatment in 2021).However,the uniformity index of fiber from cotton bolls at all the fruit branches under all shading treatments showed no signifi-cant difference.The reflectivity of fiber from cotton bolls at the≥11th fruit branches under the treat-ment of shading in initial boll opening stage was significantly reduced in 2021.In addition,shading in three stages resulted in a decrease of fiber yellowness(+b)from cotton bolls at the middle and lower part of the fruit branches,but increased the fiber yellowness(+b)at the≥11th fruit branches,and decreased fiber spinning uniformity index.[Conclusion]Shading could decrease upper half mean length and breaking tenacity of cotton fiber,but increase breaking elongation,however has a relatively minor effect on the micronaire value and uniformity index.Shading in three stages exhibited greater impact than that in initial flowering,peak boll setting,and initial boll opening stages,and a slightly greater effect of fiber quality from cotton bolls at≥11th fruit branches was observed.
