Focal Mechanisms of Medium-Small Earthquakes in Taiyuan Basin Since 2016
[目的]在前人工作基础上,利用山西区域地震台网宽频带最新的数字波形资料,采用多种方法求解2016年5月—2023年12月间发生在太原盆地的ML≥2.5地震的最新震源机制解,以进一步丰富太原盆地震源机制解数据资料,为今后该区域的地震孕育与发生机理、震情趋势研判、震灾防御等相关科学研究与工程实践提供可靠的关键基础数据与支撑.[方法]基于山西测震台网数字波形资料,利用P波初动和CAP方法确定了2016年5月至2023年12月间发生在太原盆地的68个2.5级及以上地震的震源机制解.[结果]结果显示,近期发生在太原盆地的中小地震震源机制主要以正断类型为主,兼有一定的正断-走滑及走滑类型,逆断性质类型较少;震源机制P轴方位主要集中在NEE—NE—NEN范围内,区域变化特征明显;T轴方位则集中在NW—NWN,具有较好一致性.基于震源机制解反演的区域构造应力场结果显示,主压应力轴σ1走向45°、倾角79°,主张应力轴σ3走向149°、倾角3°,表明太原盆地整体受控于NW向近水平主张应力及NE向近垂直主压应力,且主压应力轴在平面内呈现出一定的变化特征;上述结果亦表明,近期该区域构造应力场整体未发生显著变化,继承性特征明显.
[Purposes]On the basis of previous researches and the latest broadband digital wave-form data from the Shanxi Regional Seismic Network,multiple methods are employed to obtain up-dated focal mechanism solutions for earthquakes with ML≥2.5 that occurred in the Taiyuan basin be-tween May 2016 and December 2023.This work is carried out to further enrich the database of focal mechanism solutions for the Taiyuan basin and to provide reliable key foundational data and support for future scientific research and engineering practices in this region,including studies on earthquake preparation and occurrence mechanisms,seismic trend analyses,and disaster preventions.[Methods]According to the China Earthquake Networks Center(CENC),the focal mechanisms for 68 earth-quakes with magnitudes of 2.5 or above in the Taiyuan basin from May 2016 to December 2023 have been determined by using P-wave initial motion and CAP waveform inversion methods.[Results]The results indicate that the focal mechanisms of recent medium-small earthquakes in Taiyuan basin mainly belong to the normal strike mode,with some beloging to normal strike-slip or strike-slip mode,and few to thrust faulting mode.The directions of P-axis of each seismic source mechanism are mainly concentrated in the NEE-NE-NEN range,which shows the regional variation characteristics in the Taiyuan basin.Meanwhile,the directions of T-axis are concentrated in NW-NWN,showing obvious regional consistency.The results of the regional tectonic stress field with focal mechanism in-version show that the principal stress σ1-axis strikes 45°and the dip angle is 79°,and the principal as-sert σ3-axis strikes 149° and the dip angle is 3°,indicating that the Taiyuan basin as a whole is mainly under action of the horizontal stretching of NW and the vertical extrusion of NE,the principal stress axis shows certain changes in the plane.The above results also show that the tectonic stress field in this area has not changed significantly in recent years and has obvious inheritance.
