深海采矿中层羽流被动输运阶段扩散及沉降特征数值模拟OA
Numerical simulation of diffusion and settlement characteristics during the passive transport phase of midwater plumes in deep-sea mining
为探究深海采矿尾液在中层海水排放产生的羽状流的流动和沉降特性,本文以混合坐标海洋模型环流模型等作为边界条件,建立大型尺度水动力模型并验证其准确性,通过有限元方法求解羽流输运扩散过程,研究不同的排放形式等参数对中层水羽流的影响程度.数值结果表明,在相同的背景流下,与流场方向趋于垂直的布置方式、更小的中值粒径、更高的排放位置会使得沉积物沉积更广泛且其面积离散性更大,更小的中值粒径、更高的排放位置还会显著延长沉积物的悬浮时间和增大羽流团体积.沉积面积、羽流体积及悬浮时间等关键指标是尾液排放方案评估中的重要指标,因此本文研究成果可为深海采矿环境影响控制与工程优化提供技术参考.
To investigate the flow and deposition characteristics of plumes generated by the discharge of deep-sea min-ing tailings into intermediate water,a large-scale hydrodynamic model was developed and validated using the HYCOM circulation model and relevant boundary conditions.The finite element method was applied to simulate the transport and diffusion processes of the plume,enabling the assessment of the effects of various discharge configurations and pa-rameters on plume behavior in intermediate waters.Numerical simulations revealed that,under identical background currents,a discharge configuration nearly perpendicular to the flow direction,smaller median particle sizes,and higher discharge positions resulted in more extensive and uniform sediment deposition.Additionally,smaller particle sizes and higher discharge positions significantly prolonged sediment suspension times and increased plume volume.Key metrics for evaluating the environmental impact of plumes—such as deposition area,suspended plume volume,and suspension duration—offer valuable insights for optimizing deep-sea mining tailings discharge strategies.
