The accurate calculation of differential current is related to the correct operation of transformer differential protection,and the balance coefficient is a key parameter in the calculation process of differential current.Firstly,it elaborates the two implementation forms of transformer differential protection,leading to the balance coefficient used for amplitude compensation.It introduces the set-ting calculation method for the balance coefficient,pointing out the essence of the balance coefficient and the significance of selecting the reference side.Then,combined with the setting principle of differential threshold current,it analyzes the influence of balance co-efficient on the value of differential threshold composition term.Finally,it summarizes the viewpoints related to the balance coefficient to provide certain references for the setting calculation and engineering practice of transformer differential protection.
