Riemerella anatipestifer(RA)is a significant bacterial pathogen causing infectious disease in meat ducks.Belonging to the family Flavobacteriaceae,RA comprises 25 distinct serotypes exhibiting no cross-immunity.This pathogen is readily inactivated by high temperatures and disinfectants.Outbreaks are globally prevalent across both meat duck and layer duck farms,with mortality rates ranging from 5%to 70%.Antimicrobial resistance in RA is increasingly severe,encompassing resistance to multiple classes of antibiotics including tetr acyclines,aminoglycosides,and chloramphenicol,mediated by corresponding resistance genes.Virulence genes encoded by RA critically influence its infectivity and pathogenicity.Given the substantial threat currently posed by RA,the exploration and implementation of integrated control strategies are essential to contain the spread of this pathogen.
