The Complete Ci Poetry of the Tang and Five Dynasties(全唐五代词),compiled by Zeng Zhaomin et al.,is cur-rently the most widely circulated and influential collection of Tang and Five Dynasties ci poetry in academia.The attached"Index of Ci Tune Titles(词调索引)"in this work provides great convenience for the study of ci poetry,particularly in the fields of ci tune titles and ci prosody.However,it also contains a considerable number of errors and oversights.First,there are inaccuracies in the page numbers,with most entries differing by a single page,though some are off by several pages,dozens of pages,or even over a hundred pages.Second,there are textual errors,including redundant characters,omitted characters,and incorrect charac-ters,as well as instances where the original compilation was not strictly followed,resulting in the use of variant characters.Among these,incorrect characters are the most prevalent,with errors arising from similarities in form,sound,or meaning.Third,there are issues with the stylistic conventions,such as mismatches between page numbers and the number of entries,fail-ure to distinguish between works with different opening lines that are listed repeatedly,confusion between opening lines and non-opening lines like fragmented phrases or incomplete sentences,and failure to differentiate between the main compilation and sup-plementary sections,particularly the attributed works in the latter.Additionally,there are misplaced page numbers,erroneous separation of entries for ci tunes with identical opening lines,redundant listings of tune titles,omitted opening lines,and omitted ci tune titles.
