Through investigation of ancient books and the sorting of modern research achievements of traditional Chinese medicine,combined with the understanding and application experience of famous experts and scholars in desciplinary fields such as traditional Chinese medicine clinical medicine and science of Chinese materia medica,it is concluded that Herba Siegesbeckiae mainly has the effects of dispelling wind-dampness,benefiting joints,and detoxification.The symptom targets are joint pain and post-stroke hemiplegia,Biochemical indicator target is elevated levels of rheumatism and immunity-related indicators.Modern pharmacological studies have found that Herba Siegesbeckiae and its active components have anti-inflammatory,analgesic,immune regulation,and protection of cerebral blood vessels and nerves effects.Herba Siegesbeckiae has certain toxicity,so attention should be paid to dosage and compatibility in clinical use,or it can be replaced with wine-processed products.It should be used cautiously in patients with yin-blood deficiency and other syndromes.It is not suitable for pregnant women.The commonly used clinical dose is 15-30g.
