Transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β1).The signaling pathway and related proteins regulated by Smad are closely related to the occurrence and development of liver fibrosis.Traditional Chinese medicine has a significant anti liver fibrosis effect,and various effective components of traditional Chinese medicine,such as flavonoids,terpenoids,saponins,phenolic acids,and polysaccharides,can all pass through TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway protein expression inhibits the proliferation and activation of hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)and the synthesis of extracellular matrix(ECM),reduces collagen deposition,improves liver function,and reduces the level of inflammatory infiltration in liver tissue.At present,there are still some limitations in the treatment of liver fibrosis with traditional Chi-nese medicine,such as limited in vitro cell experiments;The specific components of the anti liver fibrosis effect of traditional Chinese medicine compound are not yet clear,and the synergistic effects between multiple pathways urgently need to be paid attention to;The relevant research is mostly based on basic experiments,lacking double blind,multi-center,and randomized controlled clinical studies.In the future,the regulation of molecular signaling pathways can also be combined with traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differenti-ation and treatment to form new prescriptions,providing a certain idea for the development of new drugs against liver fibrosis.
