Currently,the clinical treatment of steroid dependent nephrotic syndrome(SDNS)mainly relies on hormones,immuno-sup-pressants,cytotoxic drugs,etc.Only a few patients can completely alleviate their condition.Combined treatment with traditional Chinese medicine can play a role in increasing efficacy and reducing toxicity,thereby reducing the dosage of Western medicine,shortening the course of the disease,reducing adverse reactions,stabilizing the condition after dosage reduction or discontinuation,and preventing re-currence.Traditional Chinese medicine formulas are relatively fixed,lacking relevant experimental research and unified standards,resul-ting in significant differences in clinical efficacy.In addition,there is a lack of unified standards for TCM etiology and pathogenesis,syn-drome differentiation and classification,prescription medication,and efficacy assessment.The experimental design and efficacy observa-tion methods are not rigorous enough.In the future,we should combine big data and modern medical research methods,conduct rigorous scientific research design,and conduct more prospective research A multi-center experimental study is conducted to confirm the effec-tiveness of a combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment plan,and to innovate in dosage forms and medication methods to improve clinical efficacy.
