Influence of the Conservation and Sustainable Utilization of Biodiversity on Socotra's Ecosystems
The aim of this study is to investigates the impact of conservation efforts and sustainable utilization of biodiversity on the unique ecosystems of Socotra,an island in Yemen's Arabian Sea.Socotra is renowned for its distinctive flora and fauna, including the iconic Dragon's Blood Tree(Dracaena cinnabari)and over 700 plant species,one-third of which are endemic. The study employs a combination of field surveys, remote sensing, and interviews with local communities and conservation experts to assess the current state of Socotra's biodiversity and the effectiveness of existing conservation measures.Key threats identified include habitat destruction, climate change, and invasive species. The evaluation of various conservation strategies reveals significant progress in preserving Socotra's biodiversity. However, the findings underscore the need for ongoing efforts and enhanced strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of its ecosystems.Enhanced community engagement, stronger legal frameworks, and increased funding are essential for the continued protection and sustainable use of Socotra's unique natural heritage.
