The natural environment is the foundation of human survival and reproduction, and through various labors such as fishing, hunting, farming, migration, and settlement, human beings have developed and evolved by the interaction with the ecological environment, and built a splendid human civilization. At the same time, since its birth, religions have long occupied an important position in the history of human civilization, influencing people's worldview and methodology. Religion was born out of the interaction between human beings and the natural environment, and it has been connected deeply with natural environment since its beginning. Once religious culture is formed, it in turn affects the interaction between human beings and the natural environment. Focusing on the origin and development of religions, this paper explores the interweaving and interaction between religious culture and natural environment by taking the ideological orientation, behavioral taboos, artistic styles and other elements of representative religions as the points, which has a lot of enlightening value for constructing ecological civilization and improving environmental awareness in modern human society with cities as the main habitat.
